• Fifteen people braved early morning traffic on July 14^th to attend WEF’s “Co-Digestion of Organic Waste at Wastewater Treatment Plants” webinar co-hosted by the Department of Environmental Services and the Biosolids Committee.  They were rewarded with coffee, malasadas, and a wealth of practical knowledge on the subject matter from a panel of distinguished speakers, which included HWEA’s own Greg Chung.  Peter Melnyk and Kai Andrade of GMP led a tour of the new Honouliuli WWTP digester complex following the webinar.  A hearty mahalo goes out to Nic Musico, Collin Higa, and Clark Jacks of ENV for facilitating the event and to David Seghorn of Parsons for providing the safety briefing prior to the tour.  .Click here to see a photo of the centrifuge area.  Click here to see a photo of the digester complex.  Photos courtesy of Lori “Kaj” Morikami.
