MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

By becoming a member of the Hawai‘i Water Environment Assocation (HWEA), you will also automatically become a member of our parent organization, the Water Environment Federation (WEF), which is headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia.

Membership in HWEA and WEF offers you 20 to 40 percent discounts on more than 180 WEF manuals and books, some of which have become standard practice manuals.  You will also receive registration discounts to specialty conferences and workshops held throughout the year nationwide, as well as the annual HWEA Conference.  Membership also entitles you to receive the official WEF newsletter called WEF Highlights, which is published 10 times per year.  Other publications also available to members depending on their membership classification includes the Water Environment & Technology magazine, Water Environment Research magazine, or the WEF Industrial Wastewater magazine, and a host of other specialty newsletters.  All members, regardless of classification, will also receive the local HWEA newsletter called the Lua Line, which is published three times a year.

WEF also has additional national programs and benefits you may participate in, some of which are indicated in the informational packet you will receive directly from WEF.

APPLYING/RENEWING FOR MEMBERSHIP IS SIMPLE

There are two ways to apply/renew for membership.  You may apply or renew directly online on the WEF site by clicking here.   Please note that you will need a credit card to process payment when applying online.

The second way to apply/renew for membership is to download the 2007 HWEA/WEF membership application form (4 pages) that is available online in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF). You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print these files. The Acrobat Reader and the Acrobat logo are trademarks of Adobe Systems Incorporated.

Page 3 contains the application form that you will need to fill out.  Page 2 of the application form contains information that you will need to fill in on the first page, such as amount of membership fees, employer codes, job title, and other pertinent information.

CHANGE OF ADDRESS

There are two ways you can update your address.  The first way is to contact the HWEA membership chair.  The second way is to go to www.wef.org and go through the following steps:

  1. Hit the red RENEW button at the top of the WEF homepage.
  2. On the left navigation bar, select Member Profile.
  3. Enter your membership ID. You will need to enter your full membership ID of 8 characters.
  4. Enter your password. If you have never logged in before, your password will be the first 15 characters of your last name or the first 15 characters of the company name for corporate and associate members.
  5. Hit the login button and then select the Change address option.
  6. Change the address and submit the record.
  7. Your address will be updated in the WEF computer system.
