Calling all wastewater operators and maintenance personnel – are you up for a challenge!

Since 1988, teams representing Water Environment Federation (WEF) Member Associations have come together to compete in the Operations Challenge competition.  Operations Challenge is North America’s pre-eminent showcase of the skills of wastewater collection and treatment personnel.  This event, featured at the Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC), started with twenty-two teams and one division and has grown to a forty team, two division format.

HWEA will be running a local competition at the conference within the Exhibition Hall.  The competition combines five events (collection systems, laboratory, maintenance, process control, and safety) that are scored by a weighted point system.  These events test the required skills of operators that service and maintain our wastewater systems on a daily basis.

f you are interested in entering a team or would like more information, please call or email Daniel Akana, Jr.
